Bridging the Gap Between Great Science and Drug Development

I'm spending a few days on holiday in beautiful Mallorca. The heat has been so intense this year that it limits what you can do during the day.

It has given me time to reflect on the projects I've worked on recently, and I've realised they have one thing in common. While the underlying science is often excellent, the drug discovery strategies are frequently disappointing, making the likelihood of success highly uncertain.

In the cases I've seen, the reason is simple. Some academics still believe they can identify and characterise a drug candidate and even progress to early clinical studies without the support of experienced drug discovery scientists.

This is a costly misconception. Drug discovery and development are disciplines that require years of specialised training and practical experience.

If you have a project that you would like to progress towards candidate selection, GLP toxicology and early clinical trials, I'd be pleased to help. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
